A two-car accident occurred outside the entrance to Tallgrass Apartments, with one driver being sent to the hospital for chest pain.

At 12:42 p.m. Oct. 18, a black Infiniti vehicle ran into a black Chevy vehicle in a head-on collision on East Broomfield Street, said Sgt. David Vandyke of Mount Pleasant Police Department. He said he was not sure if there were passengers in the vehicles.

The Infiniti was traveling eastbound on Broomfield Street, when the driver in the Chevy, who was traveling westbound, tried to make a left turn into Tallgrass Apartments. Vandyke said the Chevy driver allegedly failed to yield when they turned, which caused the head-on collision.

Vandyke said it was originally considered a property damage accident, meaning only vehicle damage occurred. However, it was upgraded to an injury accident when the driver of the Chevy was sent to the hospital for chest pain. Vandyke said the injury is not believed to be fatal.
