Heavy rains hit Mount Pleasant and Central Michigan University on Monday, May 18.

Due to excessive rain on Monday, May 18, approximately 15 Central Michigan University buildings have experienced minor issues.

According Facilities Management Associate Vice President Jonathan Webb, the minor damage includes, roof leaks, water through windows and water infiltration into lower level buildings.

The university has had maintenance mechanics, landscape operations teams and architectural trades teams working to monitor, stop and correct damage all day. Project engineers have been out looking for damage.

"Fortunately, most damage occurred this morning when we had teams on campus," Webb said. "Nothing we couldn't handle."
