Central Michigan's soccer team fell to Eastern Michigan University 1-0 on Thursday, Sept. 21 in the Multipurpose Complex. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Allison LaPoint led the team with eight saves. Eastern Michigan's Kate Robinson scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick. The loss brings CMU's conference record to 0-1 and overall record to 1-2-3.

Seniors Ku'Juana Quinn and Gabriela Torres hosted the event. They highlighted prominent Afro-Latine figures and discussed how the intersection of race and ethnicity allows people to use their voices to uplift communities.

Seniors Addie Brown, Abigale Edwards, Megan Scholten, Emily Penney, Elizabeth Chlystun, and Matilda Melin were honored before the game for Senior Day. Sophomore forward Lauren Walker and junior forward Jenna Little led the team with one goal each. The win brings the team's overall record to 1-1-3.

Sophomore setter Claire Ammeraal led the team in assists with 36. CMU will travel to Iowa to play in the Hawkeye Invitational from Sept. 8-10.
