Picnic will give faculty, staff appreciation

One class is going out of its way to thank the CMU faculty.

Journalism 556: Public Relations Seminar, is hosting the first ever faculty and staff appreciation picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in Warriner Mall.

“CMU employees have endured several years of budget cuts and increased work loads,” said University President Michael Rao. “Still they have continued to perform in an outstanding fashion to ensure CMU students receive the quality education the university is recognized for delivering. It’s time we celebrate these efforts and thank everyone for their dedication and good work.”

Rao spoke Wednesday afternoon when the class met.

The picnic will include free food, drinks, raffles and a performance by DJ Dr. Beez.

“The big ticket prizes include a free night at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort with $100 spending money, a dinner at the Water Lily restaurant and season tickets to CMU football games with a priority parking pass,” said St. Clair Shores senior Dan Baumgart.
