BRIEF: Mount Pleasant Police deal with various complaints on St. Patrick's Day
Mount Pleasant police responded to a number of complaints on Saturday through calls for service, giving citations or arresting individuals.
From 7 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, 55 minor in possession of alcohol or open intoxicants citations were given to those in violation.
Forty-four calls for service were made for loud parties, as well as 12 calls for disorderly conduct.
Fourteen were arrested or given citations for attending or hosting a nuisance party.
One individual was arrested or received a citation for aggravated assault, another for disorderly conduct and another for disturbing the peace.
Citations or arrests were made in response to four individuals operating while intoxicated.
Two were arrested or received a citation for being in possession of marijuana, another two for resisting an officer.
Traffic violations were also given to three individuals.
Six people called for service because of accident or hit and run, two alarm incidents, 14 for assault or fights, two larceny, eight calls for malicious destruction of personal property, one motorist assist, one parking and 11 because of traffic stops.
Mount Pleasant Police also had two warrants for arrest Saturday.
Two medical runs were also made.
As previously reported by Central Michigan Life, Central Michigan University Police also handed out a number of citations and custodial arrests.
CMU Police Sgt. Trent Case worked the day shift on St. Patrick’s Day and said they were steady, but not as busy as Mount Pleasant Police.
Case said they gave 31 citations and five custodial arrests.
Citations consisted of minor in possession accounts and custodial charges involved arresting the individual and taking them in, Case said.
