CMU to host performer Mike Mangione
The next stop for American singer and songwriter Mike Mangione on his tour to Detroit is Central Michigan University.
Mangione is scheduled for a solo performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the KIVA Auditorium located in Moore Hall.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church member Jeremy Priest contacted Mangione and coordinated the event.
“I like writing songs because I am inspired by music from others,” Mangione said. “I want to have the same effect on people. I want them to be inspired and be affected the way I was, instilling hope and making people not feel so alone.”
Mangione said he performed at CMU five years ago, and is looking forward to his reappearance.
The show is free and open to the public.
