Dates for academic orientation sessions released

The latest batch of prospective Central Michigan University students will be on campus to receive academic orientations.

University officials have scheduled 11 different dates for new students to learn about the campus, available major and minor programs and the necessary requirements for graduation.

Freshmen academic orientation dates are scheduled for May 28-29. Another group of sessions are scheduled for June 3-5, 10-12, and finally a last group of sessions between June 17-19.

Nearly 330 students and 400 of their family members are expected to be in attendance, according to a press release issued by Michelle Howard, CMU's executive director of Academic Advising and Assistance.

Academic orientations also feature a guided tour around campus after the day-long sessions. Students are advised to take part in that tour to get more acquainted with the campus.
