Fender-Bender on Mission slows traffic

Sunday traffic on Mission Street was slowed to a crawl as the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a crash on Sunday evening.

Sgt. Shawn Paull of the department stated that both of the drivers were at fault.

The drivers, he said, were maintaining a relatively slow speed when the accident took place. One driver was pulling out of a local Wendy’s restaurant as the other driver was trying to pull out of Campus Corners. Neither driver saw the other. The semi-head on collision resulted in a Ford Focus and a Pontiac Grand Am being towed from the scene.

Although both cars suffered a substantial amount of damage, no one at the scene was hurt. It is unknown, at this time, if the individuals involved were Central students.
