The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe will host a Ground Breaking for a new Native Farmers' Market Pavilion at 8:30 a.m. June 16 on the corner of Broadway and Leaton roads.

In an effort to provide support to the Native American communities, the USDA awarded the tribe $200,000 for the Native Farmers' Market Pavilion in July 2014.

The Native Famers' Market Committee has developed plans for a 40x50 pavilion.

According to a press release from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, "the goal of the Native Farmers' Market is to provide fresh seasonal and locally grown produce to the community."

Vendors do not have to be native to sell their produce and goods, however they must be native if they want to sell Native Art.
