Health Services provides limited number of HIV testing

The Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center and University Health Services will host an HIV/AIDS awareness event for World AIDS Day on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Free HIV testing will be offered to a limited number of students during the week.

The awareness event, which will include an educational session and a service component, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Mackinaw Room.

During the service session, participants will put kits together to educate people across campus about HIV/AIDS.

The Volunteer Center will also provide funding for about 15 free HIV tests this week until Dec. 4. To schedule an appointment for free HIV testing, call health educator and HIV Counselor Lori Wangberg at 989-774-4446. The tests are confidential and first-come-first-served.
