Board of Trustees to meet Feb. 18 in President's Conference Room

The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 in the President's Conference Room in the Bovee University Center.

Action items include a motion authorizing a name change for the College of Science and Technology to the College of Science and Engineering and a motion authorizing the president of the university to ratify and sign collective bargaining agreements for 2016-2017 with the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians/Communication Workers of America, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, CMU Supervisory Technical Association, and American Federation of Teachers.

Four separate committee meetings will take place prior to the Board of Trustees meeting, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Three of the four meetings will take place in the President's Conference Room. The Trustees-Student Liaison Committee will meet in the UC Lake Michigan Room.

Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet from 3 to 3:50 p.m. and discuss University Health Services, HIPAA compliance and issues and deliver a charter schools accountability report. The Finance and Facilities Committee will meet from 4 to 4:50 p.m. and discuss a facilities update including Ronan and Grawn Hall renovations and updates to the second floor of the Charles V. Park Library.

From 5 to 6 p.m., the Trustees-Faculty Liaison Committee will hold a discussion based around the Online Academic Program Committee report received in December. At the same time, the Trustees-Student Liaison Committee will be meeting and discuss Student Government Association updates including the removal of Gentle Thursday and Friday and the Flint Water Crisis, Residence Hall Assembly updates and Campus Life updates.

The Trustees-student Liaison Committee will conclude with a presentation by Phi Alpha Delta, a registered student organization and Prelaw Fraternity.
