At 5:30 p.m. this Friday in the Baber Room at the Charles V. Park Library, audience members will be able to hear the Spring 2016 collection of poetry, prose and art for the first time.

The authors of all published works are Central Michigan University undergraduates.

Editor-in-Chief of Central Review, Alpena senior Natalie DeFour said students can listen to works ranging from dealing with death and abuse to talking about human nature and the way that writers see the world around them.

"From my perspective, there's a lot of talent from the writers who go to CMU," she said. "This is a great way to support them and to hear their work. The writers (participating) have a lot to offer, and it allows for people to get a new perspective and gain more knowledge about what writers do and hear what they have to say."

Copies of the Central Review will be available to pick up after the event and can be found in newsstand and at coffee shops throughout campus until the end of the semester.

"The purpose of the reading is to share work with the friends and families of the artist," said Dave Clark, director of student media. "It's similar in concept to a movie premiere."

The event is free. Coffee, water and cookies will be available for attendees.
