Rapid Reaction: CMU 3, Youngstown State 1

The Central Michigan Women’s soccer team defeated Youngstown State 3-1 at the CMU Soccer Complex on Friday in the team’s home opener, improving to 3-0 on the season.

Senior Taylor Potts extended the lead to 2-0 in the 27’ minute off of a corner kick from junior Jamie Rademacher.

With one minute left in the first half and four of CMU’s starters on the bench, sophomore Madison Costner crossed YSU goalie Katie Montgomery and scored from an awkward angle on the side of the net to go up 3-0.

Senior goaltender Kristen Knutson recorded three saves, and sophomore Zoie Reed finished with two saves for the Chippewas.
