First half by the numbers: CMU 10, Kent State 10

Turnovers and a lack of offensive production hurt the Central Michigan football team during the first half against Kent State.
The Chippewas are tied with the Golden Flashes 10-10 at halftime.
Junior wide receiver Corey Willis caught his ninth touchdown pass of the season with less than a minute remaining in the half to score CMU's first touchdown. The Chippewas successfully completed a two-point conversion on a three-yard reception by junior tight end Tyler Conklin.
CMU was only able to generate 162 yards of total offense in the first half and didn't score its first points until senior safety Winslow Chapman blocked a punt that went through the back of the end zone in the second quarter. The result was a safety.
Senior quarterback Cooper Rush threw two interceptions during the first two quarters. The first of which came on the drive following Chapman's safety. Rush is CMU's career leader in interceptions thrown with 49.
Kent State took a 10-2 lead midway through the second quarter on a three-yard touchdown pass. The scoring opportunity was set up by a fumble from junior wide receiver Corey Willis, giving the Golden Flashes the ball at the 14-yard line.
