League of Women Voters to host Isabella County Clerk, County Commissioner candidate forums

In an effort to educate voters on local elections, members of the Mount Pleasant League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. in the Borden City Hall Building in downtown Mount Pleasant.

Candidates will answer questions regarding their policies, political stances on issues and any other audience questions.

The Isabella County Clerk forum will take place from 6:30-7:15 p.m. Candidates include Republican candidate Minde B. Lux and Democratic candidate Chelsea Plevinski.

Following a short break, those running for County Commissioners will debate from 7:30-9:00 p.m.

There are six different districts which require County Commissioners. 

Running for District 2 is Republican Frank Engler and Democrat John Haupt. For District 3, Republican Jerry Jaloszynski and Independent Stephen Lewis will debate. 

Republican Jim Horton and Democrat Sara Spencer-Noggle will debate for County Commissioner District 4.

District 5 will see Timothy Narr, Republican, and James S. Moreno, Democrat, debate for its County Commission seat. District 6 will feature Republican candidate Robert L. Wheeler and Democratic candidate David Ling debate, with District 7 featuring Democratic candidate Tobin Hope and Independent candidate Damian Fisher.

This event is open to the public.
