Hudson earns third straight MAC West player of the week honors


Sophomore guard Presley Hudson has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the third consecutive week. 

She helped lead the Chippewas to two more victories, making then 13-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the MAC.

Hudson averaged 38.5 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals over the past week. Hudson also shot 61.5 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from 3-point range.

Against Ball State Hudson scored a career high 43 points, which was a program single-game record and a McGuirk Arena record for points in one game. She also made nine 3-pointers which tied a single game record for the Chippewas. She scored the final seven points of the game, lifting CMU to a 101-92 win over the Cardinals, handing them their first conference loss.

The scoring continued into the weekend for Hudson when the team needed overtime to defeat Bowling Green, 76-65. Hudson scored 34 points while shooting 52.4 percent from the field and went 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. 

Hudson is now averaging 33.8 points per game in MAC play and is shooting 58.7 percent (54-of-92) from the field and almost 60 percent (28-of-47) from beyond the arc.
