After dropping the first two sets, Central Michigan volleyball rallied to take the match to five sets and win the first match of the 2017 Chippewa Invitational.

Indiana State (1-7) won the first two sets by scores of 29-27 and 25-18, respectively.

A volley-saving dive nearly into the crowd by senior Courtney Hiltibran sparked a late Chippewas comeback to take the third set 28-26.

CMU (6-1) then took the fourth set 25-22 before finishing off the Sycamores with a 15-12 win to take the match in the final set.

Senior Jordan Bueter led the Chippewas with 30 kills while sophomore libero Megan Kern led CMU with 28 digs.

Central Michigan returns to action tonight at 7:30 to host the Cleveland State Vikings for their second game of the 2017 Chippewa Invitational.
