12 soccer players make 2017 Academic All-MAC team

Women's Soccer celebrates win on Oct. 19 at the Soccer Complex. 

On Thursday, the Mid-American Conference announced the 2017 Women’s Soccer Academic All-MAC team. 

In order to qualify, an athlete must have above a 3.20 grade point average and play in over 50 percent of games. 

The Central Michigan women’s soccer team had 12 players achieve those accolades, including Marle Bringard, Savannah Beetcher, McKay Matheson, Madison Costner, Meghan Sweeney, Madison Pogarch, Shannon Magnan, Jamie Rademacher, Lauren Sherry, Zoie Reed and Ally Viazanko. 

Ball State, Toledo, and Western Michigan led the way with 13 members.

There were 120 student-athletes named to the Academic All-MAC team.
