Substance Abuse Coalition to host "Picnic in the Park" July 19

The Isabella County Substance Abuse Coalition is inviting the community to join them for a substance-free "Picnic in the Park." 

The event is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. July 19 at Chipp-A-Waters Park at 1403 W. High St. in Mount Pleasant. 

According to the event's Facebook page, the first 200 guests will receive free food and snow cones. The first 200 kids will have the opportunity to tie-dye a t-shirt, and the first 100 guests will be able to tie-dye a tote bag. 

The event will feature arts and crafts projects like homemade bird feeders, coffee filter tie-dye butterflies, paper plate snails, pingpong ball shooters and puffy chalk. There will also be yard games like corn hole and giant Jenga, along with an inflatable bounce house, obstacle course and bungee run.

The event is free and open to the public. Along with games and activities, it will provide education and information from agencies throughout the Isabella County.
