Former Texas A&M defensive tackle Mohamed Diallo is the newest addition to the Central Michigan football team.

Diallo entered the transfer portal July 17, and the NCAA granted his waiver for immediate eligibility. He has two years of college eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman from Toronto is expected to get time as a backup defensive tackle against Buffalo on Oct. 26 at UB Stadium.

Diallo has been with the Chippewas since making a transfer, of which the date is unknown since the move went unannounced.

CMU Athletics did not publicly announce Diallo's addition to the team, and the roster wasn't updated until shortly before the late October game against the Bulls.

The insertion of Diallo comes in handy after starting defensive tackle D'Andre Dill suffered an injury in the Chippewas' 38-20 victory on the road against Bowling Green.

The starting defensive tackle for Central Michigan will be true freshman Jacques Bristol. Dill is not expected to miss much time with his undisclosed injury.

Diallo attended high school at Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute before attending junior college at Arizona Western College. He finished his NJCAA career with 30 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

An all-star game after Diallo's senior year of high school was the first time he ever played football. It was a matchup between Team Canada and Team USA, and his performance ultimately earned him a spot at junior college.

Ranked as the No. 59 overall player in the JUCO rankings by the 247Sports Composite, Diallo picked the Aggies over Oregon, Alabama, Fresno State, Arizona, Houston, Kansas, Ole Miss, UNLV and USF.

Diallo appeared in one game as a junior in the 2018 season for Texas A&M due to taking a redshirt.
