After a four-month soft opening, downtown pizzeria Vin Trofeo's, opened officially on Jan. 14. The event included a ribbon cutting while attendees ate pizza. William Baird, co-owner of Vin Trofeo's, said business has been great so far, and he has received a lot of incredible feedback from online reviews.

“We’ve all around been blown away by the response that we’ve gotten,” Baird said.

Tim Chaffing, another co-owner, said Vin Trofeo's stands out from the other pizza places because everything is made from scratch, and never using frozen food, even the gluten-free options like cauliflower crusts. The pizzeria also has a bar with beer on tap.

Customers have already been won over by the food since the restaurant opened last fall. Midland senior Marley Bringard said Vin Trofeo's is her favorite pizzeria and enjoys the unique pizza options, like the pickle pizza.

Mount Pleasant resident Lynn Page said she loves the atmosphere of the restaurant and the flavor of the pizza.

“The flavors of everything blends so well,” Page said.

Baird said the restaurant will eventually outgrow the space it is currently in, so it may either expand the space or open more locations.
