Police are investigating a Mid Michigan College softball coach who reportedly sexually assaulted a player.

Crime logs from the Mount Pleasant Police Department say the assault occurred on the night of Jan. 29.

According to a report by 9&10 News, the woman said the coach grabbed her by the neck and forcefully kissed her multiple times. Earlier that evening, she had helped the coach look for a deer he had hit with his car. She said the coach grabbed her and kissed her while dropping her off afterward.

The police report was sent over to the Isabella County Prosecutor, according to MPPD Public Information Officer Autume Balcome.

There will be no arrests or charges until the Isabella County Prosecutor has reviewed the case.

Central Michigan Life reached out to the Office of Strategic Communications at the college, which said the coach was immediately put on paid leave after the accusation was made.

The office could not offer any additional comments.
