CRIME LOG: Officers arrest man for domestically assaulting girlfriend

Mount Pleasant police officers respond to a shooting April 20 at The Edge at 1815.

The following complaints from May 15 - May 28 were among those responded to by Mount Pleasant Police Department:

May 16

At 7:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mister Car Wash on Mission Street for a medical assist. Upon arrival, it was clear that subject was drunk. A 26-year-old Stanton male said he was waiting for a driver. The officers told him not to drive, then they observed him from their patrol car. The intoxicated man later attempted to drive away. Officers followed him and arrested him for driving under the influence.

May 19

Officers were dispatched at 1:20 pm. after an assault was reported near North Lansing Street and Bennett Street. Police arrived and discovered that a boyfriend and girlfriend had been fighting. Based on the woman's injuries and the testimony of a witness, officers determined that the
21-year-old Mount Pleasant man had assaulted the women. He was arrested for domestic assault.
