Central Michigan University's Organization of Women Leaders (OWLs) is presenting "Women's Empowerment Week" with a range of virtual events students and faculty can attend.

"Women's Empowerment Week" will feature a virtual event daily from Oct. 26-29.

OWLs President Katie Couture, president of OWLs said she is most looking forward to all of the amazing guest speakers and the insight they'll bring.

"The best thing about Women's Empowerment Week is that warm belly feeling you get after every event," Couture said. "Though every event is so unique in their own way, they all leave you feeling empowered and uplifted in some way."

The week's  kickoff with event "It's Not That Weird" will cover topics such as sex taboos, sexual liberation and consent at 7 p.m. Oct. 26.

Virtual self care event "Enraged and Enlightened" will feature discussions on self care with guests from local business All Things Divine at 7 p.m. Oct. 27.

In lieu of an event, on Oct. 28 there will be a day-long campaign of the topic #ILoveMyBodyBecause on the OWLs Instagram account. Students are encouraged to participate and post pictures with the hashtag and tag the organization as well.

The final event "Empowered Voices: An Open Mic Event" will offer students a chance to showcase their talents to people within the community. If any students are interested in performing, they are asked to contact OWLs at owlsatcmu@gmail.com.

All events will take place on Microsoft Teams and the links can be found here
