The Maranatha Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant was marked as a potential COIVD-19 exposure site after two people tested positive, according to a Central Michigan District Health Department press release.

The department stated that "numerous" individuals who attended services from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1 may have been exposed to the virus. There may be more cases in the coming weeks.

The health department recommends that anyone who attended the church, located at 5282 E. Airport Road, during that time should monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms, according to the press release.

"We continue to see cases in situations where preventative measures are not being followed," Dr. Jennifer Morse, Medical Director for Central Michigan's health department, said in the press release. "It is very important to continue to take the only steps we have to keep COVID-19 from getting worse."

According to the department's website, there are currently 643 cases in Isabella County with 134 recovered and 14 deaths. On CMU's Fired Up for Fall coronavirus page, there was an increase of three cases on Sept. 30.
