Thomas Idema to appear on Good Morning America

Director of Student Conduct Thomas Idema will be appearing on Good Morning America for his participation in the Central Michigan University nutrition program "Day Two."

Idema filmed an interview with Good Morning America on Sept. 10 about his time in the Day Two program. CMU offers the program to employees with Type || Diabetes and gives them a new approach to managing their diabetes. Through the program, Idema lost over 100 lbs.

"I cannot tell you how thankful I am for this program," he said in a Facebook post on Sept. 10. "I have learned so much about eating as a way to heal my body.

Other than losing weight, Idema said the program has helped get his health back on track. He is now considered to be non-diabetic or in remission. He has been taken off most of his diabetic medication, and his blood pressure medicine had been halved. He also said he no longer snores.

"In short, I feel great and I have a new lease on life," Idema said.

Idema believes his featured segment will air on Monday.
