CMU's Maggie Diebold earns weekly MAC award

Central Michigan lacrosse offensive leader Maggie Diebold was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 10 goals in the Chippewas' two games last week.

Diebold, a senior and one of the leaders on this team from Howell, N.J. scored a team best and career-high six goals in the 13-7 CMU victory over MAC opponent Akron. She added to her dominant week by scoring four goals in the Chippewas' 19-13 loss at Marquette.

Diebold's efforts are the latest in a great start to the season. She has scored a goal in every game of the season so far, giving her 33 goals in 11 games. Diebold is averaging 3 goals a game on the season. Out of the 11 games on the season Diebold has scored 3 goals or more in seven of those games. She also leads the team in shots (81) and shots on goal (59).

The Chippewas (5-6, 3-1) return to action Saturday against Youngstown State University.
