The Clarke Historical Library is hosting it's speaker series with guest speaker, Susan J. Bandes, at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5 in the Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium

Bandes, the third Clarke Historian speaker for fall 2022, is a Museum Studies, Art History and Visual Culture professor at Michigan State University. She is the author of “Mid-Michigan Modern: From Frank Lloyd Wright to Googie.”

Bandes is to discuss Mid-Michigan modern architecture and architects.

“This talk will consider nationally known and rediscovered local architects whose work is represented in the state capital and surroundings,” according to Central Michigan University’s website. It is a great opportunity for CMU students to discuss modern local architecture: its styles and designs in government and residential structures.

A reception will follow the talk.

The event is free and open to the public.
