Central Michigan volleyball's season isn't over yet, as it earned an invite to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship Tournament.

The Chippewas (20-11) will face off against Xavier (19-11) in the first round on Thursday at 5 p.m. The match will take place at Ohio University's Convocation Center.

After finishing 12-6 in conference play, CMU appeared in the Mid-American Conference tournament, where it was eliminated in the semi-finals.

The Xavier Musketeers finished third in the Big East Conference, earning an appearance in their conference tournament where they lost in the semi-finals.

The Chippewas are not the only MAC team to make it into the tournament, as Toledo, Ohio University and Buffalo all secured a spot.

The NIVC is single-elimination and made up of 32 teams. The tournament will run from Dec. 1 to Dec. 13.
