Harris earns MAC Freshman of the Year; Utberg, Harris earn All-MAC honors

Central Michigan women's basketball freshman guard Sydney Harris was named Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year while also earning All-MAC Third-Team honors and named to the All-MAC Freshman Team alongside freshman guard Bridget Utberg. 

In her first year as a Chippewa, Harris played and started in all 29 games, averaging 35.3 minutes a game. 

She led the team and ranked third in the MAC in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game.

Harris ranks 11th in the nation in three pointers per game, averaging 2.97 and seventh in three-point attempts. 

Along with Harris, Utberg was named to the All-MAC freshman team. Utberg was second in scoring behind Harris with 12.5 points per game while also averaging a team leading 2.5 assists and 34.7 minutes a game.

CMU women’s basketball ended the season 6-23 overall and 4-14 in conference play.
