Kelsey Alexander named MAC Player of the Week

For the second time this season, senior left fielder Kelsey Alexander earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors after Central Michigan softball went 2-1 versus Ohio over the weekend. 


In the three-game stretch, Alexander secured a multi-hit game in every matchup of the series, going 6-for-11 at the plate (.545) with two doubles, three runs scored and one RBI. She also added two steals on the base path. 

Alexander currently ranks first on the team in slugging percentage with .679 and home runs with eight. She is also tied for first in RBIs with 21 and second on the team in hits with 40.

After defeating Ohio in the weekend series, the Chippewas moved to 16-18 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

CMU will continue conference play as they travel to Ohio to take on Toledo in a double-header on Wednesday starting at 1 p.m.
