Following a 3-1 week and an overall series victory at Northern Illinois, Central Michigan baseball redshirt freshman Luke Sefcik was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Over the weekend, Sefcik had 10 hits in his 16 at-bats (.625) while driving in six runs and scoring five himself.

Sefcik was a big part of CMU’s 17 run outburst on Saturday as he racked up five hits while driving in four runs both of which are career highs for the infielder, and he also scored three times in the contest himself.

In Sunday’s series finale Sefcik’s eight game hitting streak came to an end, but he still managed to reach base twice along with driving in two runs both coming via SAC fly.

Sefcik currently has 24 hits on the season, 14 RBI's, has scored 13 runs in 21 games played and has a slugging percentage of .429%.
