Abby Olin named Defensive MAC Player of the Week

With a strong presence at the net during the Chippewa Invitational over the weekend, redshirt sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter Abby Olin was named Mid-American Conference defensive player of the week on Monday. 

The Michigan State transfer earned this honor for the first time with a team leading 20 blocks over the course of the three-game stretch, with 12 of them coming in the Chippewas final game against Bradley. 

Adding onto her 20 blocks, she helped CMU offensively with 20 kills to help the Chippewas go 3-0 on the weekend. 

Through the first six games of the season, Olin leads the team in blocks with 35. 

CMU currently sits at 3-3 overall and 3-0 at home. 

The Chippewas will face off against Iowa on Friday at 7 p.m. to kick off the Hawkeye Invitational.
