CRIME LOG: Police responds to accidents, domestic assaults

The following incidents were among those handled by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Central Michigan University Police Department in the period of Nov. 18 to Dec.1.

Nov. 18

MPPD officers investigated a report  of a 24-year-old male being punched in the face at 12:55 a.m. at 2000 Block S. Mission St.

Nov. 20

CMUPD officers got reports at 6:11 p.m. at E. Campus St and Broomfield St. A driver was a 21-year-old female. The victim was a pedestrian, who was a 23-year-old female. She was waiting at a stop sign; the driver didn’t see her and struck her. The accident resulted in a minor injury but the pedestrian refused medical treatment.  

MPPD officers investigated to a domestic assault at 12:11 p.m. at 700 Block S. Adams St . Upon contact and investigation, it was determined that a male assaulted a female resulting in injuries. A 30-year-old male was arrested for assault and probation violation.

MPPD officers investigated a crash at 5:13 p.m at N. Francher and E. Pickard St. Officers were dispatched to a traffic crash, involving two vehicles. One vehicle had rolled onto its roof. One driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 

Nov. 21 

MPPD officers responded to a call about domestic assault that took place at 4:58 a.m at 1500 Block W. Lyons St. Upon contact and investigation, it was determined that a male assaulted a female, resulting in injuries. A 27-year-old male was arrested for domestic assault. 

Nov. 29

MPPD officers investigated a highly intoxicated female walking with a child at 3:31 p.m. at 100 Block S. Main St. The female was arrested for assault on a police officer. The child was turned over to his sober father. 

Nov. 24

CMUPD officers responded to a student trying to climb the scoreboard. Suspect was a 19-year-old male he was issued a misdemeanor and asked to leave the Central Michigan Universtiy football stadium at 1:41 p.m.

CMUPD officers got a call at 1:45 p.m. The vehicle was stopped and determined that the driver was drunk and the individual was arrested. Driver is a 53-year-old male.

Dec. 1 

CMUPD officers observed a person at 1:27 p.m dumping garbage in Northwest Apartments near campus. An officer saw a vehicle that was suspicious in a video he was watching while reviewing surveillance footage. Video found the vehicle and the suspect was a 41-year-old male.
