The Central Michigan soccer team conceded three goals before answering back with one in the last ten minutes of the game.

Senior midfielder Gabriella Sapia received the ball directly from a free kick, faked a shot and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. However, the team was unable to overcome the remaining deficit and went on to lose 3-1 to Mid-American Conference top dog Western Michigan University.

Going into the game, these teams were on opposite sides of the conference standings, with the Chippewas in last place.

The Broncos scored both goals in the first half off of corner kicks, which have plagued the Chippewas all season. This was also the eighth game in a row where CMU conceded first.

The attack also struggled, registering just two shots for the entire game, with only one being on goal. The Chippewas also won just one corner kick. Comparatively, the Broncos had 17 corner kicks.

After Sunday's result, the Broncos now lead the all-time series against the Chippewas, 17-16-1.

CMU comes back home to the CMU Soccer Complex for its last game of the season on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Eastern Michigan.
