CMU Hosts the 34th Annual Celebrating Life Pow Wow, bringing members of the Aanishnabe nation from all around the country and Canada to campus and inviting members of the CMU and Mount Pleasant communities to witness native culture March 18-19, in McGuirk Arena. The Pow Wow consisted of many different dance contests, a drum contest, native vendors, and food for all attendees to see.

CMU drops 10-19 overall, but their eighth place Mid-American Conference ranking remains freshman guard Reggie Bass leading the team with 40 points. Bass' 21 free throws broke the schools former record of 19 free throws made in a game.

A winter storm came through Mount Pleasant, dropping many inches of snow on CMU's campus, Wednesday, Feb. 22, on the campus of Central Michigan University. Due to the snow and ice, all classes and meetings after 4 pm were cancelled by the university.
