BHM Keynote Speaker Dr. Marc Lamont Hill
Dr. Marc Lamont Hill delivers a passionate speech to a crowd of Central Michigan University community members while serving as the keynote for Black History Month 2026 in the Bovee University Center Rotunda, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.
He spoke on the history and impacts of the Black liberation movement, and how it still continues on today. Halfway through the message, Hill paused and asked the audience to join him in honoring Black History Month by singing a song often referred to as "The Black National Anthem," formally known as "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Hill rounded out his time at the poduim by answering questions from the crowd and calling those in attendance to action.
