Central Michigan's soccer team defeats Purdue Fort Wayne 2-1 on Sunday, Sept. 10, in the Multipurpose Complex. Seniors Addie Brown, Abigale Edwards, Megan Scholten, Emily Penney, Elizabeth Chlystun, and Matilda Melin were honored before the game for Senior Day. Sophomore forward Lauren Walker and junior forward Jenna Little led the team with one goal each. The win brings the team's overall record to 1-1-3.
The Central Michigan Chippewas play against the New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday, Sept. 9, for the home opener. The Chippewas beat the Wildcats after redshirt junior Tristian Mattson, a transfer from Arkansas State, made a field goal, ending the game 45-42.

Hundreds of friends, family, students, and alumni of CMU flocked to the parking lot outside of Kelly Shorts stadium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 9, to participate in Tailgate Central before the CMU vs. New Hampshire football game. Tailgate Central showcased a collection of local businesses, club sports, and campus departments to celebrate CMU's home opener.
The Office of Student Activities and Involvement hosts a CMU Pep Rally and Kickin' it With the Vice President of Student Affairs Friday, Sept. 8 outside Kulhavi Events Center Plaza. The event had tailgate games, dance performances, food and a shoe competition judged by Dr. Renee Watson.
For the 2034-24 Summer Theatre Schedule, 'That's Entertainment! A Musical Revue,' directed and conceived by Stacey Pattison is being showed in the Townsend Kiva on September 7th and 9th with 'The 39 Steps' being shown on September 8th and 10th.
Chi Alpha CMU organized its Glow-in-the-Dark games at Central Michigan University, Thursday, Sep. 7, near the CMU seal. The event was the first of many planned by XA CMU for the Fall 2023 semester.
Central Michiganu's volleyball team defeated Bradley 3-2 in game five of the Chippewa Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 2, in McGuirk Arena. The win brings the team's overall record to 3-3. Redshirt sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter Abby Olin leads the team in kills, 13, and blocks, 12. Junior libero/defensive specialist Aly Gurtiza led the team in digs with 23. Sophomore setter Claire Ammeraal led the team in assists with 36. CMU will travel to Iowa to play in the Hawkeye Invitational from Sept. 8-10.
CMU's volleyball team defeated Albany 3-0 on Friday, Sept. 1 in McGuirk Arena. CMU won 25-22, 25-21, and 28-18. Graduate student outside hitter Devon Bright led the team in kills with 12. Junior libero/defensive specialist Aly Gurtiza led the team with three aces and 13 digs. Sophomore setter Claire Ammeraal led the team in assists with 28. This matchup was a part of CMU's 2023 Chippewa Invitational taking place from Sept. 1-2.

Division of Student Affairs hosts a First Generation Student Resource Fair for students to learn more about what resources CMU has to offer, Thursday, Aug. 31 in the NIRSA/Alumni Room in the SAC. Those who attended had the opportunity to socialize with other students, along with faculty and staff.

Mount Pleasant Police Department officers, local firefighters, Central Michigan University Police officers, and other university representatives canvass neighborhoods around campus in a 'Knock and Talk' Wednesday, Aug. 24. They use the technique to connect with students in off-campus housing, offering advice and informing students of expectations of being a Mount Pleasant resident.
MyMichigan Health held its 14th annual The Butterflies in the Park event to raise money for hospice patients Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Woodland Hospice House in Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant was one of five locations where the event was held. With a donation of $25, guests received a butterfly to release in honor a passed loved one, and each loved one's name was read in a ceremony of remembrance.

The Isabella County Fair held the Super Kicker Rodeo event on July 25. Contestants competed in various competitions from bull riding to barrel racing. The fair runs through July 29, 2023.
