A winter storm came through Mount Pleasant, dropping many inches of snow on CMU's campus, Wednesday, Feb. 22, on the campus of Central Michigan University. Due to the snow and ice, all classes and meetings after 4 pm were cancelled by the university.

CMU's wrestling team fell to Michigan State 20-13 Friday, Feb. 17 in McGuirk Arena. The loss brings CMU's overall record to 6-9. This was the team's last home dual of the season, making CMU's home record 3-2. CMU honored seniors Mason Breece, Ben Cushman, Tracy Hubbard and Corbyn Munson during senior night festivities before the dual.
In honor of the victims from the Michigan State University shooting and other mass shootings, CMU students and faculty gather together to peacefully protest to end gun violence Friday, Feb. 17 on the campus of Central Michigan University. The protest started on the CMU Botanical Garden Lawn and ended at Wesley Church.

People gather in support of the Michigan State University shooting to honor the victims with a candlelight vigil Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Central Michigan University Seal outside of Warriner Hall. Candle lighting began at 8:18 which was the time that the first shots were fired, and supporters and survivors were encouraged to speak about their experiences.

SGA members spoke and led the gathering where students shared personal stories and insight about the shooting at Michigan State University, and musical performances were held in honor of the tragedy.

Michigan State University students gather around the Spartan Statue on Feb. 14 after a mass shooting took place Monday night on campus in East Lansing. Campus and community members took turns placing flowers on the statue as they grieved and honored those affected by the shooting.

Senior Antonea Harris hosts the Melenated Makeup event during the Black Hair Care workshop, Friday, Feb. 10, in the Bovee UC Rotunda. Instructors showed participants and students how to do makeup, and free makeup products were offered; Harris estimated 110 participants attended the workshop.
Junior Makayla Osborn and senior Christiano Bermudez host the second annual Black Hair Care event, Friday, Feb. 10, in the UC Rotunda. The event, intended to bring awareness to the lack of information and availability of Black hair care in Mount Pleasant, attracted approximately over 215 participants.
The Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center hosts the Midnight Skate to fundraise for Alternative Spring Breaks, Thursday, Feb. 9, at Martin Ice Arena. The event was held from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am and had 96 participants who joined for the late-night skating.
CMU Program Board and Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts Kyla Jenee Lacey to perform slam poetry as a part of Black History Month, Wednesday, Feb. 8 in Opperman Auditorium. Lacey is an acclaimed writer, performer, and visual artist whose spoken word poems discuss themes of race and gender, among a variety of other topics.
CMU Men's basketball falls to Ball State 65-51 on Tuesday, Feb. 7 in McGuirk Arena. The Chippewas were outscored by the Cardinals in both halves and this loss brings their overall record to 8-16.
