At the beginning of every fall semester, Central Michigan University holds a program for incoming students. This program is meant to help welcome students and give them the chance to acclimate to their new environment.
First post COVID celebration for diversity and community
The 34th annual Michigan Indian Family Olympics was held this past weekend at CMU's Bennett Track and Field. More than 1,000 Native Americans and their family members participated in track and field events, basketball, archery and more. Here is some of the fun moments from the weekend. Pro-abortion rights group the Michigan Coalition for Reproductive Liberation holds a rally and march in protest of the Dobbs v Jackson supreme court decision, which overturned Roe v Wade, thus ending the federal right to abortion on Friday, June 24, in Detroit, Mich. The CMU Baseball team took a clean sweep in the doubleheader against Akron Saturday, April 23, at the Keilitz Field in Theunissen Stadium. Today's victories put the Chippewas at 17 straight wins on the season for an overall team record of 27-10.
The CMU lacrosse team beat the University of Detroit Mercy on senior day with a final score of 18-9 on Saturday, April 9, at the Lacrosse/Soccer Complex. This win takes the Chippewas’ record to 7-6 on the season.
The student-run production group, Threads Fashion, hosts their yearly fashion show Saturday, April 2 in Biosciences. This year's theme "elements" incorporated ideas surrounding earth, fire, wind, and water.
The CMU gymnastics team stuns with a MAC Championship and 5 individual awards including MAC Gymnast of the Year and MAC Coach of the Year.
