As it stands, Central Michigan sits in a fourth-place tie with Western Michigan in the Mid-American Conference West Division. If the season ended today, the Chippewas would be the No. 10 seed in the MAC Tournament and travel to face Ohio in the first round.

Freshman guard Molly Davis drove to the basket through contact and converted a right-handed layup. The whistle blew signifying a foul, igniting Davis and Central Michigan into a celebration. Davis converted the 3-point play and the Chippewas pushed their lead to 15 points.

Thanks to clutch shooting and solid defense down the stretch, Central Michigan was able to avoid an upset against Bowling Green in its last time out. Junior forward Kyra Bussell scored 23 points to lead the squad, with three other players also scoring in double figures.

Shawn Roundtree sat in the third row behind the Central Michigan bench and draped both arms around the adjacent seats. He smiled and waved to those who recognize him, shaking hands and offering pleasantries. He is welcoming and friendly and his face appears on the video board in the first half.

A 19-second sequence which began with a corner 3-pointer from junior forward Kyra Bussell, followed by a steal by senior forward Gabrielle Bird, and ending with a layup by freshman guard Molly Davis propelled Central Michigan to a seven-point lead with 59 seconds remaining.


Backcourt injuries allow Travon Broadway to see increased minutes, leading to breaktout performances

Travon Broadway Jr. started the first seven games of the season, scoring in double figures three times. In his first game with Central Michigan, a 102-62 victory over Michigan-Dearborn, he scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
