MV: Do you have a sports idol growing up? AG: In the past five years, Curtis Granderson was my idol. He is still my favorite, but he is a Yankee, so it is a little different.

MV: If you could schedule a game against any team in the country, who would you want to schedule? AG: The University of Florida. I’m a big fan of Florida, Florida football and all that.

MV: So who was your favorite college football player this past season? AG: Um ... probably Tim Tebow.

MV: Do you have any nicknames? AG: Yeah, I have Ash, Gil, Gilly.

MV: Do you have any phobias? AG: I don’t like flying — I hate flying. A lot of the girls don’t like flying, but I absolutely hate it.

MV: What is your favorite thing to do outside of softball? AG: Just hang out with my teammates, have fun and go out to eat. We watch TV shows a lot.
