​Ghena Named MAC Co-Runner of the Week

Senior runner Nate Ghena was named as one of the Mid-American Conference Male Co-Runners of the Week after a strong start at the first meet of the year for Central Michigan University cross country team.

Ghena took first place at the 30th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial 5K at Pleasant Hills Golf Course. The Chippewas took the took six spots on the men's side against Michigan State and Alma, with Ghena leading the way finishing the race in 15:29.46.

The next meet for Ghena and and the Chippewas will be the Spartan Invitational on Sept. 18 in East Lansing.

Ghena shared the title of MAC male Co-Runner of the week with Toledo runner Hillary Serem, who finished first at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Invite in 15:45.2.
