Michigan Blood will host an on-campus blood drive Thursday in honor of former Central Michigan University football player Derrick Nash.

The Nashstrong Memorial Blood Drive will take place from 2-7 p.m. in Finch Fieldhouse. It is co-hosted by Alpha Phi Omega.

Michigan Blood will donate $10 to the Derrick Nash Strong Foundation for every person who attempts to donate blood. Donors will also receive coupons for free pizza.

Nash passed away in June after a two-year battle with leukemia. His foundation was created after his death to provide support to families who have children battling chronic illness.

To schedule an appointment or donate, visit miblood.org or call 1-866-MIBLOOD. Any healthy person 17 years or older who weighs at least 110 pounds can donate blood.
