Women's basketball game paused due to medical situation

CMU's first round Women's National Invitation Tournament game against Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis was paused after the first quarter due to a medical situation at the scorer's table at McGuirk Arena, Thursday.

According to the team's Twitter account, it was a courtside official and is the official scorekeeper for all CMU home games. He appeared faint and was helped into a laying position before medical personnel came to his assistant.

The game was paused for about 15 minutes while the man was being attended to. Both teams, cheerleaders, dance team and 6th Man Band cleared the court, before returning to warmup before continuing the second quarter.

The man appeared to be alert as he was taken on a stretcher through the northwest tunnel at McGuirk Arena, waiving to the crowd and appearing to smile.

A witness said the man became extremely pale before fainting and appeared to seize.
