Registration open for first EHS addictions conference

Registration is now open for Moving Forward, Treating the Spectrum of Addictions, a conference sponsored by the College of Education and Human Services in collaboration with the Michigan Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.

The conference, which will be hosted at Central Michigan University on Aug. 19, is CEHS’ first conference dedicated to addressing behavioral and substance addictions.

Keynote speaker Dr. Mel Pohl will talk about non-addictive pain management methods, and the conference will feature a variety of breakout sessions, including CMU’s new certificate program in the treatment of addictions, process addictions including eating disorders and recent medical research. The conference will focus on information for clinicians, educators, physicians, criminal justice personnel and human service providers.

The early bird registration rate of $30 for students and $80 for open registration lasts until June 15. After this date, the cost goes up to $40 for students and $100 for open registration. Registration is open until August 1.
