Cooper Rush wins Manning Award Quarterback of the Week

Following a record-breaking performance last Saturday, Central Michigan senior quarterback Cooper Rush has been selected as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week. 

Rush completed 20-of-33 passes for 352 yards and a Kelly/Shorts Stadium record six touchdowns passing in a 44-21 win against UNLV. 

The Charlotte native became the 12th quarterback in Mid-American Conference history to surpass 10,000 career passing yards during the outing. In addition, he recorded his 12th career game of at least 300 passing yards. 

Rush also won the MAC West Division Co-Offensive Player of the week for the second straight week. He earned the award the week before for his performance in a last-second win at Oklahoma State and was a Manning Award Star of the Week. 

The Manning Award is given to one of seven stars of the week who receives the most votes on the Allstate Sugar Bowl's Facebook contest. 

CMU (3-0) hits the road to take on Virginia (0-3) on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
