Golf finishes last at MAC Fall Preview

The fall season has come to an end for the Central Michigan golf team after the Chippewas came in last of five teams at the 2016 MAC Fall Preview on Monday. 

CMU faced wet and windy conditions during the competition at Silver Lake Country Club in Kent, Ohio. 

In the fall season's final event, the Chippewas scored 335 and 334 over two days and 36 holes for a total of 669. Juniors Kristen Wolfe and Natalie Johnson were top scorers with 167 and 169 respectively. Freshmen Danielle Sawyer and Katie Logan each shot 170, and Sophomore Bria Colosky shot 172. Junior Amanda Walsh finished with a 184 in individual competition.

Akron took first place with a team score of 614, followed by Western Michigan (624), Ohio (631), Bowling Green (645), and Central Michigan (669). Julia Champion (WMU), Jasmine Chee (WMU), and Makayla Dull (Akron) all tied for first place individually in the field of 32.

The team gets a break until the spring season begins on Feb. 13 in Lakewood Florida for MAC Match Play Challenge.
