It's been over a month since the Central Michigan field hockey team won a match.

On Friday, the Chippewas' struggles continued at they fell 11-0 to No. 16 Iowa in Iowa City.

The loss was CMU's eight straight and fourth shutout loss in the last six matches. The Chippewas have not won a match since Sept. 3.

Despite the Chippewas' struggles, head coach Molly Pelowski said she wants to see her team continue to play hard.

"We have to minimize distractions, stay positive and come together," she said.

Iowa jumped out to an early lead, scoring two minutes into the contest. The Hawkeyes led 8-0 at halftime.

After the intermission, Pelowski subbed in freshman goalkeeper Abigail Ebersole for sophomore Lily Amadio.

"We really were working on keeping a strong mentality in the second half," Pelowski said.

The Chippewas finished the game with zero shots on goal, while Iowa finished with 18.

CMU takes on University of California, Davis on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
