Indiana University Bloomington and CMU field hockey teams grapple for an upper hand on their opponents near Indiana University's goal.

Saturday's game resulted in the 10th straight loss for Central Michigan's field hockey team.

The Chippewas continued their struggle to score this season, as they were dropped 2-1 against Missouri State at Allison North Stadium.

Head coach Molly Pelowski's team only scored it 10th goal of the season in the Chippewa's 13th loss of 2016.

Pelowski said a "lack of execution" is the reason her team has struggled to score.

"We needed to maintain possession," Pelowski said. "Missouri State came out with a lot of fire and intensity. We didn't match it for the first 10 minutes of the game."

The Bears took an early advantage, scoring three minutes into the game. They scored again with 23 minutes left in the first half to jump out to a 2-0 lead before halftime. With around 12 minutes left in the second half, CMU senior Maude Stalars scored her second goal of the season to make the score 2-1, but CMU couldn't build momentum from there.

"We didn't make any adjustments until the second half," Pelowski said. "In the second half, we were playing a little bit harder and dominating the play."

CMU plays Saint Louis on Sunday. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
